It's tempting to Google yourself. We all like the thrill of seeing ourselves pop up on the world's most popular search engine. But when it comes to trying to get your Paid Search ads to pop up "in the wild," the results may seem disappointing at first. This article will cover the main reasons that looking for your own ad on Google is not likely to produce results, as well as how to see that the ads Fullpath is creating are indeed running and working for you.
Why Don't I See My Ads?
There are multiple reasons why you may not see your ads when searching for them on Google, the chief among them being:
- Blocked IP Address: When onboarding with Fullpath, you likely provided your dealership's IP address(es) on the Ad Preferences page of your Digital Advertising settings. We disable your dealership's IP address so that you do not accidentally rack up ad spend on clicks that won't lead to conversions. We want to make sure that every dollar spent on ads is a dollar spent on getting you more customers.
- Keyword Choices: As a professional in the automotive industry, the way you search for your dealership does not necessarily match up with the way your potential shoppers do. Fullpath utilizes Google's tried-and-true choices for keywords and combinations in order to make sure that people who are looking for what you're offering can find you.
- Shopper Behavior: Google analyzes your online behavior in order to predict whether or not you are a worthwhile shopper to spend advertising money on. As a person who is searching but not clicking on the results that appear, Google "gets the message" that you are not a typical shopper and is less likely to serve you ads, since you are clearly not the best ROI. In addition, since Fullpath's Digital Advertising optimizes for conversions, searching for ads (and not following through on a conversion on-site) teaches the algorithm that you are not a shopper worth pursuing (and therefore not the right person to aim ads at).
