Viewing Ad Traffic Inside Analytics
Many dealerships like to view their PPC Ad performance inside Google Analytics. Fullpath sends UTM codes for Google and Facebook traffic which can be easily viewed inside Analytics to monitor your ads' performance.
Fullpath sends the following UTM codes:
utm_source = google / facebook (according to the platform)
utm_medium = cpc
utm_campaign = Name of the Objective and Bundle
utm_content = search / display / social (according to the channel)
To access this information, log into your Google Analytics account > Reports > Acquisitions > All traffic > Source/Medium.
In the Source/Medium tab, you can see where your traffic came from. If you want to view ad performance, you need to click google/cpc or facebook/cpc under the Source/Medium column, as shown in the screenshot below.
You can break the CPC report down by clicking on Others next to Source/Medium and selecting Campaign from the recommended drop-down list. This report will show you the metrics for all the objectives and bundles that are currently running in your account.
Below is a list of some of the metrics that are available in this report. To learn more about each column, simply hover over the question mark icon beside each option.
- Campaign - The name of the campaign consists of the Objective name and the Ads bundle name.
- Users
- New Users
- Sessions
- Bounce Rate
- Pages / Session
- Avg. Session Duration
- Goal Conversion Rate
- Goal Completions
- Goal Value
