Each widget module has a UTM parameter so that marketers can decide what interaction they would like site visitors to be welcomed with when arriving at the website from a click on a link inside a marketing email.
The links included in the marketing email should follow the format listed below to successfully trigger a particular widget module when a visitor lands on site:
https://www.example.com?alst_module=module_name&alst_car_make=car_make&alst_car_model=car_model
An example would look like this:
https://www.johnsford.com?alst_module=e-price&alst_car_make=ford&alst_car_model=focus
Module_name can be:
1. book-appointment
2. offer-assistance
3. directions
4. trade-in
5. offers
6. service
7. test-drive
8. test-drive-plus
9. e-price
10. reviews
11. chat
12. sms
UTM Parameters for Each Paid Ad
Each Dealership and OEM Offer in the system also have a unique UTM parameter. These UTM parameters for individual offers may be used in several ways including:
- If you’re not using Fullpath's Digital Advertising – add the parameters to each ad promoting a specific offer
- Add parameters to email blasts that discuss a specific offer
- Add parameters to organic social posts promoting a specific offer
To collect these parameters, go to Data Sources > Select Dealership Offers or OEM Offers. When hovering over an offer, an icon will appear on the right side.
Important Note: the parameters that will be copied to your clipboard do not contain a prefix. If this is the only, or the first, parameter you will be adding to your links, be sure to add a ? before the parameter. If this will be after other parameters (like UTMs), add a & before the parameter.
Example:
https://yourdealership.com/inventory/123456789?alst_action=offer&alst_action_value=w_258
The red section will need to be setup before you append the UTM parameter to your ads, emails, or posts.
